Our Philosophy and Beliefs
The Living Hope program model is guided by the belief that human beings need hope to overcome mental illness. As a result, the approach Living Hope has developed offers a state of the art, comprehensive program for school-based services and outpatient services, addressing the physical, psychological, sociological, and spiritual needs of psychiatric clients. Hope is an act of expectation of some good thing in the future, and this program will inspire, in those who actively participate, a desire for total health and a newly-fashioned expectation for continued wellness. In this context, however, hope is a vain expectation unless it is experienced in a relationship with a significant other who is available to facilitate the realization of the desired improvement or achievement. Thus, hope must in some way be an act of community whether it be family, church, or nation – or just two people or a small group struggling together to produce improvement in the other.
