Jim Aukstuolis, M.D.
LHSE Medical Director
Dr. Aukstuolis graduated from the University of Arkansas College of Medicine at Little Rock in 1987, and he is Board Certified in Child and Adolescent psychiatry. Dr. Aukstuolis previously worked as a social worker, focused primarily on adoptions. Arkansas Governor Mike Beebe appointed Dr. Aukstuolis Commissioner of the Children’s Behavioral Health Care Commission in 2007. He is currently employed as the Medical Director at Living Hope Southeast.
Thomas Freeman, M.D.
Dr. Freeman’s clinical experience ranges from children to geriatric clients. While he was acting chief and chief of the PTSD section at Central Arkansas Veterans Healthcare System, the PTSD section was one of the busiest in the United States. He has supervised an array of services, including general psychiatric outpatient care, an intensive outpatient program, and residential care. Dr. Freeman sees clients at both the Living Hope Hot Springs and Little Rock Clinics.
David Haas, M.D.
Dr. Haas provides services at the Living Hope Little Rock Clinic.
Mervin Leader, M.D.
Dr. Leader graduated from the University of Kentucky College of Medicine, Lexington, KY. He has experience as a Psychiatrist and as a lecturer in behavioral medicine. He also served as the Medical Director of Psychiatry at Memorial Hospital in South Bend, IN. Dr. Leader provides services at the Living Hope Hot Springs Clinic.
Thanh Nguyen, M.D.
Dr. Nguyen’s experience includes a wide range of services and treatments, including adult day treatment programs, outpatient programs, outpatient chronically mentally ill programs, community mental health, emergency psychiatry, and other therapy. She works with both children and adult clients. She has been rated as one of America’s Top Psychiatrists by the Consumer Research Council of America, a research company in Washington, DC, that evaluates professional services throughout America. Dr. Nguyen works with clients at both the Living Hope Little Rock and Monticello Clinics.
